Former Publicist Tommy Fortmann Joins Boutique Talent Firm Matter Media, Signs Remi Cruz

Longtime digital media-focused public relations expert Tommy Fortmann has joined boutique digital talent management firm Matter Media Group as senior talent manager.

At the same time, Fortmann, who has long worked with lifestyle influencer Remi Cruz in a communications capacity, has signed Cruz as his first managerial client. Cruz, for her part, has two lifestyle YouTube channels and hosts the Pretty Basic podcast alongside fellow creator (and MMG client) Alisha Marie. She also just launched a digital series and accompanying blog dubbed Cooking With Remi, and Fortmann will work with her to pursue new hosting opportunities within the food space.

Five-year-old Matter Media was founded by Evegail Andal, and works on brand partnerships as well as developing creator-led, entrepreneurial ventures. Its other clients include beauty creators Louie Castro and Daisy Marquez, as well as lifestyle star Adelaine Morin.

Prior to joining Matter, Fortmann was a senior publicist at Metro PR, and throughout his career has worked with clients like Alisha Marie, Anthony Padilla, Nick Viall, Alyson Stoner, the It Gets Better Project, and Nikita Dragun’s Dragun Beauty. At Matter, he will support the existing roster while looking to sign new talent, with a focus on LGBTQ+ creators.

“Tommy was an essential part of our team during his time as a publicist representing Matter Media Group talent,” Andal said in a statement. “Through his amazing rapport with talent, knowledge around the industry, and his involvement in building strategies with our shared clients, it made so much sense for us to evolve our partnership.”

Cruz will continue to be represented by UTA and attorney Jessica Marlow at Weintraub Tobin.
