Twitch Will Finally Give Creators Details On Why They’re Being Punished

In something of a long-overdue update, Twitch will begin furnishing more detailed explanations to punished streamers as to the nature of their offenses.

“As of today, enforcement notifications sent to suspended users will include the name of the content and the date of the violation to ensure they have better clarity about what content is being actioned on,” Twitch’s support account wrote on Twitter.

A sample screenshot provided by the platform showed that notifications will include the tenant of Twitch’s Community Guidelines that has been violated, where the violation occurred (including stream title and date), and the length of the suspension.

The Verge notes, however, that Twitch still won’t explicitly be telling streamers what they did to incur a violation — only the policy that they violated. This has always been the case — what’s new here is the name and date of the stream.

Twitch totally revamped its policies surrounding ‘Harassment And Hateful Conduct’ at the beginning of the year, and then unveiled new punishment policies for severe off-platform misconduct in April.
