Moonbug Bringing ‘CoComelon’, ‘Blippi’, ‘Little Baby Bum’ To MENA Region Via Etisalat Pact

Moonbug Entertainment has forged a distribution pact with Etisalat, one of the largest telecom operators across the Middle East, Asia, and Africa (MENA).

The deal will call for roughly 270 episodes of Moonbug’s most popular series — including CoComelon (which will be available in both English and Arabic), Blippi, and Little Baby Bum — to stream on Etisalat’s kid-focused SVOD service, e-Junior. This marks the first time that Blippi will be distributed in the MENA region in its original English language, Moonbug says.

“Moonbug’s content introduces children to universal themes that have proven to transcend across different languages and regions,” Nicolas Eglau, the company’s managing director EMEA and APAC, said in a statement.

All told, Moonbug’s content library — comprising 550 hours — is available in 27 languages on 100 platforms, including YouTube, Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime Video, Sky, Tencent, Youku, and Roku. The company has increased international expansion in recent months, inking distribution deals in the U.K., Brazil, China, and the Nordics.

Etisalat is headquartered in Abu Dhabi and was established four decades ago as the UAE’s first telecom provider. All told, the company counts 154 million subscribers across 16 countries.
