Mr. Kate, the interior design creator duo comprising husband-and-wife team Kate Albrecht and Joey Zehr — who rose to fame for making over the rooms of fellow YouTube stars — are launching their own furniture line this month.
Mr. Kate, which has 4 million subscribers and nabs 2.5 million monthly views, has pacted with Dorel Home — the home furnishings division of Montreal-based Dorel Industries — on the venture. Dorel also manufactures juvenile products and bicycles alongside brands like Costco and Cannondale.
The inaugural furniture collection will comprise metal and upholstered beds, accent chairs, futons, and sofa-sectionals. Both functional pieces and decorative accents will run the aesthetic gamut, Dorel says, including minimalist and mid-century modern pieces in fabrics like linen and velvet and touting a multitude of colorways. Prices will range from $230 to $630. The line will be sold online at Wayfair, Walmart, Amazon, and Overstock, with additional distributors to be announced. In addition to their furniture line, Mr. Kate — who are repped by A3 Artists — previously released a best-selling DIY lifestyle book titled A Hot Glue Gun Mess and appeared in an HGTV special in Feb. 2019.
