In our latest ranking of the top 50 most-viewed YouTube channels of the week across the globe, two countries are still occupying all of the top 15 spots. One of those countries is India, home to a record label that continues to achieve unparalleled success on the world’s top video site. The other is the United States, home to numerous successful children’s channels and media companies, several of which are rolling up millions of views each day.

For the umpteenth week in a row, T-Series earned more views over a seven-day stretch than any other channel on YouTube. In our latest count, the Indian record label and media company recorded 888.3 million weekly views. That tally brought T-Series’ lifetime viewership above 139 billion views, and it will be a surprise if the South Asian juggernaut isn’t the first YouTube channel to reach 150 billion total views (it’s on pace to reach that mark later this year.)
Cocomelon – Nursery Rhymes has established itself as the regular runner-up to T-Series, and this week was no different. The tuneful American hub added 715.6 million weekly views to its lifetime total, allowing it to hold onto the #2 position it held last week.
The most significant change in this week’s global top five came in the #3 position, which was claimed by Sony SAB. The digital home of the Indian TV channel moved up two spots from #5 after notching 493.9 million weekly views. That total is just a hair more than the one registered by this week’s #4 finisher, Kids Diana Show. The Ukranian-American family vlog dropped one spot from its previous chart position thanks to its 492.2 million weekly views, which was 10% less than what it brought in the week prior.
Like Nastya rounded out of the top five. The family-friendly American channel earned 487.8 million weekly views during our latest measurement period.
One of the trends I’ve noticed in these charts, especially during the ongoing COVID-19 epidemic, has been the rise of YouTube channels that give viewers access to the hottest TV shows of the moment in various countries around the world. We’ve seen hit shows from India, The Philippines, and Indonesia drive massive YouTube viewership, and this week, it is Pakistan’s turn in the spotlight. Har Pal Geo is the official YouTube home of Geo TV, one of the major TV channels in the aforementioned Islamic nation, and one of the hottest shows on Geo is Fitrat, a romantic drama that premiered last November.
As of this post, there have been 77 episodes of Fitrat, and Geo previews each one with a teaser posted on the channel’s official YouTube home. These short trailers pull in more than a million views apiece, and when all those hits are added up, the result is a big return for Har Pal Geo.
In our latest global ranking, Har Pal Geo received 139.4 million weekly views, good for 39th place and a 6% increase over the previous week. With many more Fitrat episodes on the horizon, look for the Pakistani channel to continue its surge.
