The calendar has turned over to September, which means summer will soon come to an end. But while there may be a change of seasons in store, there’s no change this week in our ranking of the top 50 most viewed YouTube channels of the week across the globe. An Indian music juggernaut continues to lead the way, with a cavalcade of kid-friendly channels following behind it.

Last week, the top two channels in our global chart sported viewcounts within 3% of each other. Since then, the gap between them has widened. T-Series, which is still the #1 channel in our worldwide ranking, ended the most recent week with 902.5 million weekly views, a 2% bump over the total it accrued the week before. Meanwhile, #2 finisher Cocomelon – Nursery Rhymes saw its own weekly viewership dip slightly. Its most up-to-date chart total is 853.8 million weekly views. That’s a lot of toddlers watching animated nursery rhyme videos — but not quite enough to catch T-Series.
The other three channels in this week’s top five all held onto positions they claimed the week before. Child-friendly destination Kids Diana Show was third for the second week in a row thanks to a seven-day tally of 693.3 million weekly views. Fellow family vlog Vlad and Niki, which is based in Florida and follows the adventures of two Russian-American boys, retained its #4 spot after picking up 656 million weekly views.
The channel that rounded out the top five for the second week isn’t focused on early childhood content, but instead offers updates from the world of Hindi-language entertainment. SET India, one of South Asia’s most-viewed video hubs, counted a seven-day view total of 635.1 million hits, making it the final channel to cross the 600 million view benchmark this week.
Another week, another Latin music star surging up the global top 50. This time, however, the hitmaker in question is someone who is no stranger to YouTube. Juan Carlos Ozuna Rosado, who goes by the stage name Ozuna and flies the Puerto Rican flag on his YouTube channel, had the 41st most-viewed channel of the week after releasing several new music videos and audio-only clips to support the release of his new album, Enoc.
The reggaeton star was most viewed artist on YouTube in 2018, and a year later, he passed Justin Bieber to claim the highest number of billion-view videos on the world’s top video site. Now, in 2020, he’s putting together another strong year. Over the past seven days, the Ozuna YouTube channel received 126.3 million views, a 96% jump over the viewership it received during the seven days before that.
Videos related to tracks from Enoc are the clear catalysts of this gain. One clip, which features the song “Despeinada,” needed only four days to snag more 27 million views. The video features Ozuna and Colombian guest star Camilo as they cavort around a summery, sun-drenched beachside locale.
