Another week, another #1 finish for YouTube’s top Bollywood channel. In our latest ranking of the Top 50 most-viewed channels of the week worldwide, that indefatigable Indian hub added a million new subscribers in a week, closed in on a billion views over the same time period, and led a top-five that was unchanged over the previous seven days.

Chart Toppers
Throughout the 2020 calendar year, T-Series has been in and out of the #1 spot in our global chart, but during the dog days of summer, the Indian channel has put together a multi-week streak at the top of the rankings. During the week of August 17th, it earned 977.8 million weekly views, giving it a comfortable lead of more than 100 million weekly views over the next-most trafficked channel. The one million subscribers it added over the same span has brought its total subscriber count above 120 million.
Last week, Kids Diana Show jumped over several other family-friendly American destinations to reach the #2 spot in the global chart, and in our most recent update, Kids Diana is still second, thanks to 867.3 million weekly views. The animation hub right behind it in third place, Cocomelon – Nursery Rhymes, is closing the gap between the two channels; after seeing a 5% week-over-week viewership jump, Cocomelon earned 838.9 million weekly views.
For the second week in a row, fourth place went to Vlad and Niki, a Florida-based vlog that follows the daily lives of its two titular boys. Despite seeing its viewership drop by 14% since our last round of charts, Vlad and Niki still earned 673.4 million weekly views. That was good enough to edge past the #5 finisher in this week’s global chart, SET India. The Sony-owned South Asian hub scored 613.9 million weekly views over our most recent seven-day measurement period.
Top Gainers
The American YouTube star Jimmy “MrBeast” Donaldson is a frequent entrant in both our global and US-only Tubefilter charts, but his week-to-week success usually depends on the virality of his latest stunt. This week, Donaldson pulled off a doozy, and a result, his YouTube viewership has been soaring.
On August 13, Donaldson posted a video in which he revealed to the world that, one week prior, he completed the purchase of his very own private island. The transaction cost the North Carolina-born entertainer $730,000, but based on the success of his recent videos, he’s beginning to recoup that down payment. In his first video on the island, he voluntarily stranded himself there for 24 hours. In his second, he invited ten people to his private shores to compete in a microcosmic version of Survivor, in which the contestants must negotiate a series of challenges to earn the opportunity to keep Donaldson’s island.
These two videos have already received more than 50 million views combined, powering Donaldson to a week during which the MrBeast channel earned 156.6 million views, jumped from 46th place in our global chart up to 27th, and registered a week-over-week viewership increase of 35%. All that for the low, low price of $730,000. Now that’s what I call an “investment.”
