This week brought only minor changes to the upper echelons of our regular YouTube rankings, but among the world’s most popular channels, there are some interesting trends worth noting. An Indian entertainment juggernaut continues to pace the field in our global top 50, while a popular children’s animation hub is seeing its viewership head in the wrong direction.
T-Series is #1 yet again. The popular home for Bollywood music videos and other tuneful clips received 935.2 million views over the most recent seven-day period measured by our charts. While that total was 3% lower than what T-Series scooped up last week, it was still enough to stay ahead of Cocomelon – Nursery Rhymes, which saw its own viewership decrease by 6% over the same timespan. Cocomelon, which held onto the #2 spot, charted 761.7 million views this week, which is far less than some of the billion-plus weekly viewership totals it registered just a month ago.
The change in this week’s global chart begins at the #3 spot, where SET India resides after reaching #4 last week. The Sony-owned South Asian entertainment hub earned 684.3 million weekly views. Taking over its residence in fourth-place is Vlad and Niki, a family vlog that placed fifth a week ago. This time around, it earned 639.5 million weekly views. While that was 10% less than the traffic it delivered the last time we presented this chart, it was still enough to beat out SAB India, which dropped from 3 to 5 in the latest rankings. That channel’s viewership fell by 17% week-over-week, leaving it with 577.8 million weekly views.
If you follow our charts regularly, you may have noticed that SSSniperWolf, the internet alias of the British-born videomaker Lia Shelesh, has become a fixture in them. Shelesh is one of the most popular individual YouTubers in the world, boasting 20.8 million subscribers and 6.8 billion lifetime views. In our latest ranking, she has reached one of her highest chart positions yet, moving up to the 33rd spot after sitting in 49th a week ago. The catalyst for that jump was a 20% week-over-week viewership increase that allowed Shelesh to record 125.7 million weekly views.
Shelesh, like many YouTube stars, first rose to prominence by playing games and showing off her sharpest cosplaying outfits. Recently, however, she has diversified the content on her channel. When Tubefilter interviewed her in 2018, our focus was her move into reaction-style content, which led her to a new level of viewership. Some of her most popular videos released in the past few dayhs have been reactions. Her responses to some rich kids on TikTok have proven particularly popular; that video is fast approaching seven million views.
