Famed Editor Carine Roitfeld Pacts With amfAR, YouTube For COVID-19 Fashion Fundraiser

Fashion website CR Fashion Book, founded by former Vogue Paris editor Carine Roitfeld, is teaming up with amfAR (The Foundation for AIDS Research) and YouTube for a star-studded runway show to support research for a COVID-19 cure.

The event, dubbed CR Runway With amfAR Against COVID-19: Fashion Unites, will be hosted by YouTube’s head of fashion and beauty, Derek Blasberg, and is to stream tomorrow at 4 pm ET, airing exclusively on YouTube’s flagship fashion hub at YouTube.com/Fashion. This is the second annual standalone CR Runway show in partnership with amfAR, but the first time that funds will be allocated to coronavirus research.

In order to adhere to current social distancing guidelines, each of the models will be sporting fashions from their own closets, as styled by Roitfeld and team, who will also consult on hair (Sam McKnight), makeup (Tom Pecheux), nails (Mej Kawajiri), and choreography. Models will film themselves walking from home, and these videos will then be edited to form a complete digital runway show.
