YouTube’s Dance Community — Matt Steffanina, Todrick Hall, Alyson Stoner — To Convene for #MoveWithMe Special

YouTube’s dance community is coming together in quarantine in honor of International Dance Day — an annual holiday coined by the Dance Committee of the International Theatre Institute to fete the birthday of Jean-Georges Noverre, who is credited as the creator of modern ballet.

To celebrate the occasion, and to get homebound viewers off of their beds and couches, YouTube is hosting a special live event today titled #MoveWithMe on Matt Steffanina’s channel (11.7 million subscribers). The event, produced by Den Of Thieves

, will kick off with a live chat at noon ET, and will conclude with a finale performance starring YouTubers Todrick Hall and Alyson Stoner, Jerry Harris from Netflix’s Cheer, actor/gamer Jordan FisherDancing With The StarsGleb Savchenko, and more.

#MoveWithMe will encourage viewers to donate to support the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund for the World Health Organization (WHO). The special is also part of a recently-announced slate of YouTube Originals that are being produced — and intended to be consumed — during the coronavirus pandemic. In Celebrity Substitute, for instance, stars like Karlie Koss and Ken Jeong will teach courses on coding and biology, respectively, while in Create Together #WithMe, Joseph Gordon-Levitt will showcase works hailing from his HitRecord platform.
