YouTube Originals Pacts With Dude Perfect For Inaugural Tour Documentary (Trailer)

YouTube Originals has unveiled the trailer for its new film about Dude Perfect — a massively popular channel in which five friends orchestrate unfathomable sports trick shots.

Dude Perfect: Backstage Pass is a documentary that will chronicle the group — comprising Tyler Toney, Cody Jones, Garrett Hilbert, and Coby and Cory Cotton — as they pack into a bus and embark on their inaugural live tour. The film will also touch on the highs and lows of the group’s career, from their humble roots in Texas to the way that they “turned what could have been a one-and-done viral moment into sustained global stardom,” according to YouTube.

As with all YouTube Originals, the film will free to watch for all YouTube viewers. It premieres on May 11 on Dude Perfect’s channel.

Dude Perfect, which has amassed 50 million subscribers and 10 billion lifetime views, has been giving fans plenty to watch during quarantine, while also raising money for charity. The collective created the so-called Quarantine Classic to quench fans’ thirst in the wake of international sports cancellations. All five guys went live on their channel for the first time to compete in different events, including office golf and spikeball. The initiative, which had peak concurrent viewership of 114,000 and upwards of 22 million total views, raised $85,000 for the Red Cross and Feeding America.

And late last year, the group released another documentary titled Untold Stories, a 90-minute Whistle-produced documentary diving into the never-before-seen backstories behind 10 of their most notable trick shots.
