Last week was the rare week in which the Indian juggernaut known as T-Series failed to crack our charts (due more to a counting quirk than anything else), but the entertainment hub was back among YouTube’s busiest over the previous week. That said, it failed to eclipse an American animation studio, which retained the #1 spot it earned last week.
Cocomelon – Nursery Rhymes received 824 million views during the most recent measurement period recorded by our partners at GospelStats. The California-based studio’s cavalcade of kids’ videos kept YouTube’s youngest viewers quite busy over the past seven days, and as a result, it saw its viewership grow by 10% over the previous week. T-Series, which landed in the #2 spot this week, counted 721 million views over seven days, which is both an astonishing total to think about and about 100 million hits shy of the chart’s top position.
Two more of our chart’s family-friendly stalwarts, Like Nastya and Kids Diana Show, claimed the #3 and #4 spots, respectively, though they were separated by more than 120 million views. Nastya notched 677.1 million views to reach #3, while Kids Diana’s 561 million view total came in behind that. Rounding out the top five was SET India; the South Asian entertainment hub, owned by Sony, claimed 534 million views this week, good for a 24% jump over our previous ranking.
This week’s charts were dominated by Indian and American channels, which claimed all of the top ten positions as well as 30 of the top 50. That said, the channel in the top 50 that saw a more significant upward lift than any other was a Brazilian one. The vlogging home of Brazilian creator Luccas Neto picked up 258.7 million views this week, good for a 178% increase. It’s the second time this month that Neto’s primary YouTube home has experienced a major rise toward the top of our charts.
Another channel that had a big week was the official YouTube hub of the Nick Jr. channel, which received 130.9 million views during a week when many American children were advised to stay at home. Here at Tubefilter, we’re only disappointed that this handwashing song doesn’t seem to be taking in a large portion of those views.
Here’s a breakdown of the Top 50 Most Viewed channels this week in terms of their countries of origin:
United States: 16 channels in the Top 50.
India: 13 channels in the Top 50.
