Jake Paul Sued For Copyright Infringement Over 2017 Holiday Track “Litmas”

A trio of music producters have filed suit against YouTube star and aspiring rapper Jake Paul over a Christmas track he released back in 2017, titled “Litmas.”

The producers — Erik Belz, Jonathan Pakfar, and Shane Abrahams — allege that Paul stole their work to use as the backing track for “Litmas,” TMZ reports. They say they originally created the track, dubbed “Bad Santa,” in 2015 — and that Paul came across the work given that he shared a studio with the three producers on multiple occasions. Belz, Pakfar, and Abrahams are suing for copyright infringement, and want Paul to take down the song and compensate them for their fair share of profits to date.

“This is absolutely without merit and once again, a feeble and disturbing attempt at using the U.S. legal system to gain notoriety and relevance through frivolous legal claim,” a spokesperson for Paul told TMZ. “Jake’s legal team is handling the situation and looking forward to exposing the frivolous action for what it truly is.”
