Ninja Becomes Adidas’ First Pro Gamer Partner In Multiyear Deal

TylerNinjaBlevins has become the first pro gamer to score a partnership with massive sportswear company Adidas.

The streamer — who made waves earlier this month by moving from Twitch (where he was its most-followed creator) to competitor Mixer — debuted an official video about the partnership on Twitter, telling fans, “I’m humbled, and excited, to officially announce my partnership with Adidas.”

In the video, he adds, “Partnering with Adidas is a chance to join a family that celebrates fellow creators at the top of their game. Those that choose to persevere through doubt, fear, and uncertainty to chase their dreams. To all the creators that have come before, and to all those that will follow: It’s time to clock in.”

Adidas, which is a current sponsor for a handful of esports teams, told Engadget that this deal is a sign of its commitment to gamers, and that it’s all-in on “supporting creators who show dedication to excelling in their field,” whether that field is turf or tech.

It’s not clear yet what exactly Blevins’ multiyear deal with Adidas will entail, but he now has an official landing page on Adidas’ site and his wife Jessica Blevins recently tweeted an image of a Ninja-branded Adidas jacket, so fans may be able to expect some incoming Ninja sportswear. And, if this partnership is anything like Blevins’ other major deal with energy drink company Red Bull — creators of Blevins’ emblematic headband — it’s likely Blevins himself will be sporting Adidas’ latest wear during upcoming streams and events.
