The actor Wil Wheaton, perhaps best known for his stints on Star Trek: The Next Generation and The Big Bang Theory, has filed a breach of contract suit against digital outfit Geek & Sundry alleging that he has not been paid his share of profits from the role-playing game show Titansgrave: The Ashes Of Valkana — which he created, wrote, and executive produced.
The suit — filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court by Wheaton and his company, Media Dynamics — notes that Geek & Sundry hired him in 2015 to create the series for $50,000 plus 50% of any net profits that ensued, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
It is unclear whether Wheaton received that initial $50,000, though the suit claims that Geek & Sundry’s parent company, Legendary — which had exclusive rights to promote and distribute the show, but was supposed to “consult meaningfully” with Wheaton — negotiated licensing agreements with Sinclair Broadcasting, Hulu, and Pluto TV without consulting him or compensating him. Wheaton is seeking at least $100,000 in damages, alleging that Legendary won’t let him audit its books to see how much he is owed. He is also asking the court to conduct a full accounting.
