In April, VidCon announced that animals would be attending the convention for the first time as part of a co-branded programming venture with Group Nine’s pet-centric media brand The Dodo.
And now, we’ve got the full rundown of The Dodo Pet Zone — a first-of-its-kind draw for ‘Community Track’ ticket holders, where fans will be able to interface with the viral pets at meet-and-greets and six panel sessions (below). Taking place on July 13, the programming block will feature Animal Planet host Dr. Evan Antin (1.2 million Instagram followers), Sunglass Cat (725,000 followers), Escobar The Bearded Dragon, and the dynamic dog and pig duo Pickles and Dill (91,000 followers).
They join previously announced participants including Nala Cat, Norbert The Dog, Walter Geoffrey The Frenchie, Venus The Two-Faced Cat, Manny The Frenchie, comedian Drew Lynch, and fashion and beauty vlogger Mia Stammer. All told, The Dodo Pet Zone will cover myriad topics, including how to turn your pet into a social star and how pets are leveraging their influence for a greater good.
“The opportunity to put these animals and their stories front and center at Vidcon furthers our mission to entertain and inspire the next generation of animal lovers,” Dodo president YuJung Kim
said in a statement. “The full lineup of programming will provide audiences with the inside scoop on some of the most influential animals across social and talk to their humans about harnessing the power behind their pets’ massive social media following.”You can check out the itinerary in full below:
