Joey Graceffa’s ‘Escape The Night’ Season 4 Trailer Teases Return Of Axed Cast Members

Folks tuning in for the fourth season of YouTube original series Escape the Night can expect to see some familiar faces return from the dead.

The lightly-scripted fantasy murder mystery series, which is YouTube’s longest-running homegrown production, stars creator Joey Graceffa (9 million subscribers). Graceffa, who’s a New York Times bestselling author, created the show and serves as a producer.

The first two half-hour episodes of the 10-episode season will premiere on July 11. Although YouTube is heading for a 2020 where all originals will be free to watch, for now, most of Escape the Night will continue to air behind YouTube Premium’s $12-per-month paywall. There are a few exceptions to the paywall: the fourth season’s first episode will be free to watch, like the first episodes of all three previous seasons. And, in honor of the season’s debut, those three seasons will be free to watch in their entireties from June 26 through July 31 before being paywalled once more.

Graceffa teased the season — subtitled All Stars — earlier this month, but the new trailer dishes out more details, revealing Graceffa will journey into Purgatory in an effort to bring back fan-favorite cast members like Alex Wassabi (11.4 million) and Liza Koshy (16.9 million), who met grisly ends in previous seasons. However, Graceffa’s rescue mission is thrown off course when the mysterious villain’s monster-filled Museum of the Dead comes to life.

Cast members for the fourth season include newcomer Bretman Rock (6 million) with returners Colleen Ballinger (8.5 million), Justine Ezarik (5.9 million), DeStorm Power (2.9 million), Timothy DeLaGhetto (4 million), Gabbie Hanna (6.5 million), Tana Mongeau (4.5 million), and Rosanna Pansino (11.2 million).

The first episodes of Escape the Night’s previous three seasons have amassed 20.5 million, 25.8 million, and 11.9 million views, respectively. YouTube doesn’t provide viewership data about videos behind the Premium paywall.
