Netflix Unveils Trailer For First Awesomeness TV Series, Teen Shoplifting Drama ‘Trinkets’

Netflix has released the trailer (below) and launch date (June 14) for Trinkets, an upcoming teen thriller produced by Gen Z-obsessed content maker AwesomenessTV.

Viacom-owned Awesomeness has found enormous success on Netflix before — namely with its feature rom-com To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before — and Trinkets marks its next big bet on the streaming platform, as well as its first Netflix TV series.

The YA shoplifting drama will comprise 10 episodes — each 30 minutes in length. Trinkets is based on the 2013 novel by Kirsten ‘Kiwi’ Smith (the screenwriter behind Legally Blonde and Ella Enchanted) — who will also serve as an executive producer on the show — about three teenage girls from different corners of the high school cafeteria who meet in a Shoplifter’s Anonymous meeting. The unlikely friends find strength in one another as they negotiate family, high school drama, and the dilemma of fitting in.

The series stars Brianna Hildebrand (Deadpool), Kiana Madeira (The Flash), and Quintessa Swindell. Other executive producers include Shelley Zimmerman, Brin Lukens, and Rebecca Glashow. Linda Gase will serve as the showrunner of the series, which was filmed on location in Portland.
