Top 50 Most Subscribed YouTube Channels Worldwide • Week Of 5/12/2019

It’s another weekly installment of the Tubefilter Chart of the Top 50 Most Subscribed YouTube Channels Worldwide. And an almost nine-year-old beauty channel had an unprecedented uptick to take the #1 spot.

Chart Toppers

Tati Westbrook‘s recent public discord with massive YouTube beauty star James Charles led to the latter shedding a lot of subscribers and the former picking them up to the tune of 2.75 million. That puts Westbrook at the top of the charts by a LOT. In a far-off distant second place is T-Series. The Indian music record label and film production company (that was – until recently – in a subscriber race with PewDiePie to claim the title of most-subscribed channel on the platform) tacked on a meager-by-comparison 899,000 subs on the week.

In third place is Cocomelon – Nursery Rhymes. The animated edutainment channel accumulated a ton of views and an even 749,000 subscribers during the seven-day timeframe. In the #4 spot is a family friendly Russian family channel. Like Nastya Vlog picked up over 582,000 subs in the week.

And rounding out the Top 5 is the YouTube home of South Korean girl group comprised of Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé and Lisa. For the uninitiated, those are the members of Blackpink, and in the last week their channel tacked on another 482,000 subscribers.

Top Gainers

The aforementioned Tati Westbrook is our Top Gainer this week.

The 37 year-old beauty guru has had a healthy channel on YouTube for the better part of the last decade, consistently scoring monthly view counts in the 20 to 30 million range and subscriber upticks in the ballpark of 100,000 to 250,000. But that was before she became the focal point of what’s come to be some very intense, highly scrutinized, and incredibly popular YouTube drama.

The spat between Westbrook and Charles came to a head with Wesbrook’s May 10 upload of “Bye Sister…” A Charles apology video and massive internet uproar later, and Wesbrook’s channel closed out the week with more than 2.7 million new subscribers. That’s a 7,522% week-over-week increase in her subscriber acquisition rate and more than enough subs to claim the #1 spot.

United States: 19 channels in the Top 50.
Indonesia: 7 channels in the Top 50.
India: 6 channels in the Top 50.
South Korea: 5 channels in the Top 50.
Russia: 3 channels each in the Top 50.
Belarus, Brazil, Egypt, Great Britain, Morocco, Norway, Panama, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam: 1 channel each in the Top 50.
