BBC Studios Launches ‘TalentWorks’ Podcast, Featuring Sit-Downs With Joe Sugg, Elle Mills, More

After launching a content imprint called TalentWorks in October — whereby BBC Studios will partner with digital creators like Joe Sugg, Caspar Lee, DanTDM, Joe Wicks, and Sam and Nic Chapman to develop new IP ventures — the famed British broadcaster has unveiled a new podcast series.

The TalentWorks Podcast will provide a behind-the-scenes look at the lives of online stars like Sugg, Elle Mills, and Rhett & Link, covering myriad subjects including: how to grow an online following, the creative process, predictions for the future of the digital industry, and advice for aspiring creators and brands operating in the space. The BBC notes that the podcast has peaked at No. 3 on the iTunes ‘business’ charts, and was also featured on Apple’s ‘New And Noteworthy’ shelf.

The podcast features interviews conducted by the TalentWorks team — including development head Helen O’Donnell and development producer Bronagh Monahan. Episode one turns a spotlight on Sugg, the YouTube star known as Thatcher Joe with upwards of 8 million subscribers, who has also released a graphic novel titled Username: Evie as well as appeared in — and come in second on — Strictly Come Dancing, which is the U.K. equivalent of Dancing With The Stars.
