Queen Naija, BlameItOnKway Nominated At Second Annual ‘BET Social Awards’

Black Entertainment Television (BET) will celebrate the year’s biggest viral moments on YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, and beyond during the Viacom-owned network’s second annual BET Social Awards.

The live, one-hour event will be hosted by stand-up comedian Jess Hilarious, who counts 4.1 million followers on Instagram, and DC Young Fly — a rapper and Vine-turned-YouTube star. The awards will take place at Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta on March 3, and awards will be handed out in a total of four categories: ’Issa Wave’ (highlighting new music artists), ‘LMAO!’ (comedy), ‘Social Hustle’ (creators who have turned their social presence into full-fledged careers), and ‘Best Celeb Follow’ (honoring celebrities from traditional entertainment).

Additionally, activist Shaun King will receive the ‘Social Movement’ award for the way in which he has elevated the social landscape, BET says, and harnessed his platform to help change laws, oust corrupt politicians, and elect promising new ones. Other nominees this year include online comedians BlameItOnKway and Jay Versace, rapper Cardi B, vlogger-singer Queen Naija (pictured above), Will Smith, and Nicki Minaj.
