SoulPancake, the conscientious content purveyor, has announced two key additions to its senior leadership team amid a move into the Beverly Hills offices of its parent company, Participant Media. (Participant, the production firm behind films like Spotlight and The Help, acquired SoulPancake in 2016).
SoulPancake has today named Jordan Allen (pictured above) SVP of revenue, strategy, and operations, and Mick DiMaria its new VP and creative director. Allen will report to SoulPancake CEO Shabnam Mogharabi, while DiMaria will report to the company’s head of creative, Golriz Lucina. Allen, who will oversee day-to-day business operations and top-level strategy, most recently served as SVP of PopSugar Studios. DiMaria has served as a creative consultant for the likes of 20th Century Fox, ad agency Battery, and mobile game developer Jam City.
“Jordan and Mick will play an integral role in building off last year’s momentum as we head into 2019,” Mogharabi said in a statement. “Additionally, moving into the Participant Media offices will open the door for us to offer a broader suite of first-class content and creative products.”
Ten-year-old SoulPancake was founded by The Office star Rainn Wilson and last year debuted several original series including Board Of Dating and I Survived, as well as branded projects alongside the likes of T-Mobile (Funded In America) and Panera (Food Interrupted). The company also premiered a Participant documentary titled The Price Of Free on its YouTube channel (3 million subscribers), and made its first-ever foray into live entertainment with SoulPancake Live. In 2019, the company plans to resurrect one of its flagship personalities, Kid President.
