After Jake Paul Doc, Shane Dawson Sets Sights On Justin Bieber Collab

After turning his probing — though at times misdirected — docuseries lens on some of YouTube’s brightest stars, Shane Dawson may be dreaming even bigger for his next project.

Dawson’s past award-winning undertakings have sought to provide an unvarnished look at the likes of Jeffree Star and Jake Paul, who are as massively popular on YouTube as they are notorious — Star for his past use of racist slurs, and Paul for his destructive stunts that have occasionally landed him in legal hot water. But now, Dawson has put the call out to none other than Justin Bieber for a forthcoming project that he says “my heart is super invested in.”

“I’d really love to talk to you about a project I’d love to do with you,” Dawson tweeted the singer yesterday. “I know you probably won’t see this, but if you do and have a sec, let me know.”

While Bieber has yet to respond to Dawson’s proposition, he would seem to be a fitting subject for the YouTube megastar, whose Paul documentary has garnered a collective 141 million views across its eight lengthy episodes. Bieber, who rose to fame on YouTube, is now arguably one of the biggest stars on earth, and has also weathered his own fair share of past controversies, including vandalizing a neighbor’s home and getting arrested for a DUI (within the span of one week back in 2014).

And a Bieber series isn’t the only project that Dawson has teased on Twitter. Earlier this month, he suggested that wholesome Nickelodeon star JoJo Siwa and foul-mouthed rapper Danielle ‘Bhad Babie’ Bregoli — who have beefed in the past — switch lives for a day. This is a concept that Dawson has already explored in another series on his channel, where he has switched lives with fellow YouTubers Molly Burke and Trisha Paytas.
