Comedy Duo Jake And Amir Are Readying Web Series Return On Patreon

Comedy duo Jake Hurwitz and Amir Blumenfeld, who rose to renown via the College Humor web series Jake And Amir, as well as a long-running advice podcast called If I Were You, have been secretly readying a Patreon venture for the past few months comprising a trio of brand new digital shows — which they just unveiled today.

At launch, the Patreon channel will feature two shows — a video version of the If I Were You podcast, as well as a new commentary series called Jake And Amir Watch Jake And Amir. In the latter effort, the guys — joined by former collaborators Thomas Middleditch and Ben Schwartz — will watch old episodes of their beloved web series and furnish commentary and behind-the-scenes anecdotes. Episodes of both If I Were You and Jake And Amir Watch Jake And Amir will be between 15 and 30 minutes apiece, the guys say, launching weekly for patrons.

If all goes well, Hurwitz and Blumenfeld have bigger ambitions. When they receive 10,000 patrons, they say, they will emerge from web series retirement to create a brand new scripted project that would mark their first narrative series since Lonely And Horny. Lonely And Horny debuted on Vimeo in 2016 — and a second season was just picked up by College Humor’s recently-launched subscription service, Dropout.
