Warby Parker Sets Its Sights On Anna Akana For Cat-Eye Glasses Collab

Stylish prescription glasses retailer Warby Parker, which donates a pair of glasses to someone in need for every sale, has once again looked to the digital creator circle for its latest collaboration.

After pacting with Tyler Oakley on a limited edition collection back in 2016, the company is linking up with another bespectacled vlogger: Anna Akana, who has amassed 2.4 million subscribers on the strength of her short films and pithy vlogs featuring self-help missives and social commentary.

Akana owned 10 pairs of Warby Parker frames before being approached by the company, which describes the 29-year-old as having “a plucky spirit that injects a bit of levity into everything she does, which is something we aim for every day at Warby Parker.” Akana’s collection, starting at $95 including prescriptions, officially launched yesterday. It comprises five frames — three standard glasses styles and two sunglasses options — that includes some of Akana’s favorite existing SKUs, but with a new acetate finish, and in new shades. Given Akana’s well-documented love for cats, the collection features several cat-eye shapes in rosy hues.

“I’ve been an obsessed Warby Parker fan for several years — for good reason: they’re adorable, classy, and I always get compliments on whatever frames I’m sporting,” Akana said in a statement. “Now, anytime someone asks me where my glasses are from I can add, ‘They’re actually mine!’ — before I direct them to Warby Parker.”
