After announcing her transition into acting last year with her theatrical debut in a play called Confidence, lifestyle vlogger Tanya Burr has booked her first major film role.
Burr has joined the cast of the U.K. found-footage horror film Cassette, per ScreenDaily. Principal photography for the film, which is being produced by Parkhouse Pictures (Anna And The Apocalypse) and directed by newcomer Marcus Harben, kicks off this week in London. The independently-funded project will follow four students who move into a haunted apartment and find a cassette tape revealing the secrets behind the death of the previous tenant.
Burr, who counts 3.6 million subscribers on her YouTube channel and 3.1 million followers on Instagram, will be joined by co-stars Harry Jarvis (High Strung: Free Dance) and Loreece Harrison (Black Mirror).
Burr, who has also parlayed her creator career into books, has previously appeared in a Sky One TV series titled Bulletproof. She is also set to appear in an upcoming film titled Hurt By Paradise, which was written and directed by Greta Bellamacina, and chronicles the unlikely friendship between an aspiring young poet and middle-aged, wannabe actress. Hurt By Paradise is currently in production as well.
