TLC Renews YouTube Phenom Dr. Pimple Popper’s ‘This Is Zit’ For Second Season

TLC wants more Dr. Sandra Lee — the YouTube dermatologist known to her 4.1 million subscribers as Dr. Pimple Popper.

Lee has cornered one of the oddest niches on YouTube, where fans find her skin extraction videos oddly satisfying. And her success on the platform led to a hit TLC reality series called Dr. Pimple Popper: This Is Zit — which the network has just renewed for a second season ahead of its season one finale tomorrow at 10pm. New episodes of the series, in which Lee tackles unusual skin conditions and helps patients live embarrassment-free lives, will roll out in January, per Deadline.

The show has been a smash for TLC, ranking No. 1 among females aged 25 to 54 in its time slot, and driving millions of views on Facebook Watch

and the TLC Go app. “We look forward to giving viewers more of the fantastic Dr. Sandra Lee and showcasing how she tackles challenging conditions and, most importantly, improves her patients’ lives in the upcoming season,” TLC president and GM Howard Lee said in a statement.

This Is Zit premiered on July 11. Lee counts 2.3 billion lifetime views on YouTube — where her most popular video, the extraction of a back blackhead bizarrely dubbed ‘Mrs. Gold’, has amassed 47 million views — as well as 2.8 million followers on Instagram. Lee also recently unveiled a website dubbed The Pretty Pimple, reports Refinery29, complete with behind-the-scenes commentary, extended episodes, and never-before-seen photos.
