‘Game Of Thrones’ Star Maisie Williams’ App For Creative Collaborations Will Launch On August 1

Though Game of Thrones is expected to end next year, one of its stars looks like she’ll be plenty busy even after the fantasy epic airs its final episode. Maisie Williams, who portrays Arya Stark on the HBO blockbuster, is set to launch Daisie, an app that helps its users find creative collaborators.

The main unit on Daisie is the “chain,” which can turn a single piece of work into a full-blown collaboration. Users can post unfinished art -and can find other creators who can contribute the tasks they specialize in. If one user posts song lyrics, for example, another can volunteer to sing them.

“We want to basically give the power back to the creator,” Williams told TechCrunch. “Instead of them having to market themselves to fit someone else’s idea of what their job would be, they can let their art speak for themselves.”

To help seed projects on Daisie, Williams and her partners have recruited a roster of 100 up-and-coming creators across several fields. The group, known as the Daisie 100, includes a few familiar faces, such as Sacha Powell of the athletic collective Storror.

Williams announced Daisie back in January and is set to launch it on August 1, according to TechCrunch. The team working on the app also includes co-founder Dom Santry, a film producer.

The venture is Williams’ latest foray into the world of digital media. Arya Stark’s portrayed launched her own YouTube channel in 2015 and is still active on it. To date, she has accrued more than 400,000 subscribers.
