Wingstop, Pizza Hut, More Keen To Collab With David Dobrik After Mukbang And Offhand Mentions

At VidCon, starry vlogger David Dobrik announced his intention to say ‘yes’ to more career opportunities this year outside of his relentless vlog — which has been an all-consuming focus that has spawned enormous success.

And if a recent segment on his podcast, Views, is any indication, brands are falling over themselves to work with the 21-year-old. In fact, Dobrik says he can’t so much as mention a product in passing without its parent company reaching out via Twitter in hopes of forging a collaboration. On the latest episode of Views, Dobrik (who is a member of Collab‘s talent roster) said that a slew of food marketers have contacted him this week about brand deals. After filming a Wingstop mukbang (or eating show) with fellow creator Josh Peck last week, for instance, Dobrik says that the Texas-headquartered chicken chain wants to set up a call.

The same thing happened recently when Dobrik’s assistant Snapchatted a photo of him eating Pizza Hut — the pizza company messaged him on Twitter to discuss ways in which they might be able to work together. The Olive Garden

also contacted Dobrik in hopes of sending him some swag after he effused about the chain.

In the aforementioned video with Peck, Dobrik made an offhand comment about what he’d eaten for dinner the night before: “I had a Corona Light with Chex Mix, and I was watching Storage Wars,” he recounted. “And the next day, I wake up, and Chex Mix is in my DMs, and they’re like ‘Hey, we saw that you love us, we want to send you something’…And then the lead person from [the A&E reality series] Storage Wars is also tweeting me. I’m like, ‘What the f-ck is going on?’ I feel like I can talk about anything now and it will happen.”
