YouTube Orders George Clooney-Produced Dark Comedy Series Starring Kirsten Dunst

YouTube is going into business with George Clooney and Kirsten Dunst.

The video giant has ordered an hourlong dark comedy series titled On Becoming A God In Central Florida. Dunst will star in and executive produce the series, which will consist of 10 episodes, Deadline reports. Clooney and Grant Heslov’s Smokehouse Pictures will produce the series in collaboration with Sony-owned TriStar Television. (Sony is also the studio behind YouTube Premium’s first breakout hit Cobra Kai, Deadline notes).

On Becoming A God In Central Florida is set in Orlando in the early 90s. Dunst will star as a minimum-wage-earning water park employee who schemes her way up the cultish, multi-billion dollar pyramid scheme that led to her family’s demise. The series was previously in development at AMC, and was written by Robert Funke (The Labyrinth) and Matt Lutsky. Esta Spalding (Masters Of Sex) will serve as showrunner, and Charlie McDowell (The Discovery) will direct.
