The Rebecca Black renaissance is heading to TV. On June 7, three days after releasing a music video for her single “Satellite,” the 20-year-old songstress of “Friday” infamy will appear on FOX’s two-season-old reality competition series The Four.
In her appearance on The Four, which was teased via a tweet, Black will perform in front on the show’s star-studded judging panel, which consists of Diddy, Meghan Trainor, and DJ Khaled. “When I was 13 I had a song called called ‘Friday,’ but I felt like that song has defined me for so long,” Black says in the teaser. “I am so much more than that.”

“Friday,” which has been viewed more than 120 million times since 2011, was regarded after its release as one of the worst songs ever. Black, who made the song with the help of a company called Ark Music Factory, responded gracefully to the negative reception she received. She donated revenue she earned from the music video to help relief efforts for the 2011 earthquake in Japan, and she continued to make videos, collaborating with some of YouTube’s biggest stars along the way.
Now, in 2018, the Rebecca Black renaissance is in full swing. She released an original single, “The Great Divide,” in 2016, and followed it up by releasing an EP called RE / BL in 2017. Her latest video accompanies “Satellite” and can be found on her channel, where she has more than 1.3 million subscribers.
The Four airs on Thursdays at 8 PM ET.
