Crypt TV Casts Horror YouTuber James ‘Deadmeat’ Janisse For Season Two Of ‘The Look-See’

Digital horror network Crypt TV is bringing back one of its most popular series, The Look-See, for a second season.

The monster-themed series will once again be directed by 26-year-old Landon Stahmer, and is set to return on July 24. The first season of the dialogue-free show — which amassed a combined 30 million views across Facebook, YouTube, and the Crypt TV website — consisted of five episodes. (While Crypt primarily focused on Facebook distribution at its outset, the network has since gone on to amass 1 million YouTube subscribers and 100 million views in just 10 months).

The first season of The Look-See spawned countless fan reaction and theory videos on YouTube. And, in a decidedly meta casting call, The Look-See superfan and noted horror YouTuber James ‘Dead Meat’ Janisse (714,000 subscribers) has been tapped to co-star in season two. The second installment will be a period piece, according to Crypt TV, that peels back the mythology of The Look-See

monster.

The Look-See is one of the very best monsters in Crypt TV’s monster universe,” said CEO Jack Davis, who founded Crypt alongside horror director and producer Eli Roth. (The company raised $6.2 million in a Series A round last March from Blumhouse Productions, Lerer HippeauNBCUniversal, and Advancit Capital). “I’m eager to see how fans devour the clues and storyline of Look-See season two, and I can promise them there will be a big announcement when we release the season finale.”
