Casey Neistat Is Planning To Release A Shawn Mendes Tour Documentary On YouTube

As part of Casey Neistat‘s vision for his month-old startup 368, the YouTube star plans to produce a number of projects that will be centered around the work of particularly creative people. Now, thanks to a vlog Neistat posted on his channel, we can take a look at one of the first programs he plans to launch under the 368 banner. Neistat has been busy shooting a documentary that will follow Vine-star-turned-top-40-musician Shawn Mendes as the 19-year-old Canadian tours Europe.

Mendes, who released his third full album just days ago, recently embarked on a trip to the UK. While there, he was joined by Neistat, who documented his life on the road. During that time, Neistat had to take a break from his 368 vlog, but he got his viewers back up to date with a video posted on May 26:

Like Neistat, Mendes first rose to prominence thanks to his work online. On the bygone six-second video platform Vine, Mendes would post short snippets of his songs, which would receive millions of views. He has since emerged as a bonafide pop star, reaching top-ten chart positions with singles like “Treat You Better.” Meanwhile, he continues to maintain a strong digital presence; on YouTube alone, his channel counts more than 14 million subscribers.

Neistat plans to share his chronicle of Mendes’ tour via YouTube, though he hasn’t seen when exactly the film will arrive. He did note in his recent vlog that he will finish putting the doc together “in a few weeks.”

Meanwhile, there are other interesting projects coming out of Neistat’s 368 venture. He recently launched the podcast Couples Therapy alongside his wife Candace, and he seems to be mulling a partnership with Patreon founder (and fellow YouTuber) Jack Conte.
