Geek & Sundry To Bring Back Popular ‘Magic: The Gathering’ Web Series ‘Spellslingers’

Fans of the popular trading card game Magic: The Gathering will soon be able to celebrate the return of one of the best web series the game’s community has to offer. Magic‘s developer, Wizards of the Coast, has teamed up with Geek & Sundry for a fourth season of Spellslingers, which will once again be hosted by excitable gamer Sean “Day9” Plott.

As in previous seasons, the new Spellslingers episodes will give Day9 a chance to, in his own words, “play Magic: The Gathering with my nerd friends.” This season’s competitors will include Lizzie Bennet Diaries star Ashley Clements and Kyle Hill, the host of Nerdist’s Because Science. (Nerdist, like Geek & Sundry, is owned by Legendary.)

The first season of Spellslingers premiered in 2013 and quickly rolled up millions of views. A second season arrived in 2015.

“Fans asked, we listened! We’re thrilled to work with Geek & Sundry to bring Spellslingers back for another season,” said Trick Jarrett, Global Content & Community Manager for Wizards of the Coast, in a press release. “Sean is the consummate host and does a superb job of engaging, entertaining and educating guests and the audience. We know current and future Magic: The Gathering players and fans will have a lot of fun watching Sean and his celebrity guests learn more about the game.”

The fourth season of Spellslingers will premiere on May 30. Look for it on the Geek & Sundry YouTube channel, which has more than 1.7 million subscribers.
