YouTube Red Reportedly Picks Up Series Starring Digital Supergroup Sidemen

The Sidemen are reportedly taking center stage. According to Deadline, the digital supergroup will headline a YouTube Red series called The Sidemen Show, which will feature challenges, camaraderie, and celebrity cameos.

Led by a septet of young, influential creators, The Sidemen are one of YouTube’s top acts. Individual members KSIVikkstar123ZerkaaBehzingaMiniminterTBJZL, and Wroetoshaw all have millions of subscribers on their respective YouTube channels, and their collaborative videos regularly reel in millions of views apiece. Among other ventures, The Sidemen have matched up against teams of all-star YouTubers in a pair of charity soccer matches, with a third on the way next month.

The Sidemen Show will reportedly feature musician Nicole Scherzinger, survivalist Bear Grylls, and comedian Jack Whitehall among its cast. Whitehall is himself set to lead a YouTube-distributed series of his own, which will feature soccer stars and YouTube standouts as its guests.

The production team working on The Sidemen Show includes Blue Ant Digital Studios and Antenna Pictures, according to Deadline‘s report. Rumored shooting locations for the series include Russia, Austria, and Morocco.

In total, The Sidemen Show is expected to consist of seven half-hour episodes. While a release date for the series hasn’t yet been publicly shared, it is believed to be headed to YouTube Red, where it will live behind that platform’s paywall. A subscription to YouTube’s premium service costs $9.99 per month.
