VidCon is set to make its Canadian debut in May at influenceTHIS — a daylong conference in Toronto that, for the second year, will bring together top players across the country’s influencer marketing sphere.
As part of this year’s influenceTHIS gathering on May 15, which is themed ‘The Social Content Edition’, Vidcon will host its own breakout creator meet-up event called VidCon Connect. Marking VidCon’s foray into Canada, the evening will comprise inspirational talks from three prominent female channels: Molly Burke, The Sorry Girls, and Elle Mills. The presentations will be followed by a networking hour and an after party.
“We love what influenceTHIS is doing in the online video space,” said VidCon’s chief strategy officer, Michael Gardner. “Creators dedicate their lives to creating a community that brands have only recently started to connect with, and we’re excited to produce our first Canadian event in support of these talented creators and their future content.”

The larger influenceTHIS gathering will feature a keynote by Johnson And Johnson’s global director of digital partnerships, Edlynne Laryea, as well as 50 additional bold-faced speakers. Panels will cover how to measure ROI from influencer campaigns, and best practices when working with Canadian influencers. This year, the conference expects to welcome 450 total attendees, who will have the opportunity to schedule short meetings with marketing and media execs from the likes of Starbucks, PepsiCo, Studio71, Kin Community, and more.
