After “Really Bad Mistakes” And A Year Off, Shay Carl Returns To Shaytards Channel

As Shay Carl Butler looks to atone for mistakes he has made in his personal life, he has returned to the YouTube channel he and his family made famous. For the first time in more than a year, the Butler family has posted a new vlog on the Shaytards channel, which went on hiatus in February 2017 as the family’s patriarch was embroiled in a scandal.

Last February, an adult webcam performer shared explicit text messages Shay Carl had sent her. Shortly thereafter, the YouTube star admitted that his chronic alcoholism had returned, and though he was already planning a hiatus, he immediately took a step away from YouTube to sort out his personal issues.

In November, Shay Carl returned to his YouTube channel with a contrite vlog, and the latest Shaytards video, which chronicles the Butler family’s trip to Washington, DC, he offers more apologies for his transgressions. “I’ve had a really hard year. I’ve made some really bad mistakes and I’m not trying to hide them. I’m not trying to hope you guys forgot about what i did,” he said in a voiceover. “I apologize to the parents of the kids who watch the Shaytards vlogs.”

Shay Carl also said he hopes to do a Reddit AMA to encourage further discussions with his fans, and he plans to release more vlogs on the Shaytards channel going forward. As he produces more content, it seems like his family — including his wife Colette and his five children– will be right alongside him.
