YouTube Red To Spotlight K-Pop Megastars BTS (And Their Fans) In Eight-Part Series

The next docu-series coming to YouTube Red is set to Burn The Stage. That’s the title of an eight-part program that will chronicle the incredible global stardom achieved by BTS, a popular K-pop group.

BTS, also known as Bangtan Boys, was founded in 2013 out of one of the many Korean studios that assembles young performers into K-pop groups. Since then, the septet has experienced a rapid rise to fame, which has been particularly evident on social media. Every time BTS tweets, hundreds of thousands of fans press the retweet button, and last year, the Guinness Book of Records enshrined BTS in its pages by naming the group as the musicians with the most Twitter engagements.

Burn The Stage will offer an “intimate, personal portrayal” of the group against the backdrop of a recent 20-city tour that spanned the globe. The official BTS fan group, known as ARMY, will also be profiled.

YouTube Red’s library already includes several other shows and films, including Lindsey Stirling’s Brave Enough and Lilly Singh’s A Trip To Unicorn Island, that follow social media stars on the road. The subscription-based platform is also the home of another program set in the world of K-pop: Run, Bigbang Scout, featuring the group Bigbang.

In the US, Burn The Stage will arrive on YouTube Red on March 28.
