Anna Akana Is Full Of Secrets In Trailer For ‘Youth & Consequences,’ Coming March 7 To YouTube Red

Anna Akana‘s next role will come in a high school-set drama that seems to be full of secrets, intrigue, and scandal. The YouTube star has the lead role in Youth & Consequences, a YouTube Red series that has received a March 7 premiere date.

In Youth & Consequences, Akana portrays a spin doctor who starts a rumor mill among her social circle but sees it grow out of her control. The vibe portrayed in the trailer is that of a high school House of Cards of sorts. Alternatively, a press release describes Youth & Consequences as a “‘woke’ version of Mean Girls.”

Youth & Consequences, which is produced by The Mark Gordon Group of Grey’s Anatomy fame, was announced last October. It is the latest TV role for Akana, who has parlayed her YouTube stardom into an acting career. Last year, among other gigs, she had a recurring spot on the drama Stitchers, which airs on ABC’s Freeform channel.
