Since 2016, digital studio Life Noggin has blended science and video games on its Play Noggin channel. Regular viewers of those videos have no doubt accumulated a lot of gaming knowledge, and now, they will have a chance to show off what they have learned. Life Noggin has teamed up with former SourceFed host Reina Scully to launch Play Noggin Game Night, a trivia series that go live each week on Twitch.
In each episode of Game Night, Scully and her guests will play a game and will pose trivia questions related to those titles. As the hosts attempt to answer these stumpers, viewers will be invited to test their knowledge by chiming in via Twitch chat. At certain points during each stream, viewers will also get to select punishments for hosts who have answered incorrectly.
Play Noggin host Julien Huguet announced the new series in a YouTube video. He directed Play Noggin fans to Twitch, where the first episode of Game Night will launch on February 11 at 7:30 PM ET.
Scully previously appear in a Play Noggin video in which she discussed the science of love. For her new show, she is aiming for something more interactive. “Instead of just talking with the chat, we wanted to take it to the next level and give them control over what’s going on on the other side of the screen, we want the viewers to be involved with what we’re doing in real time,” she said. “I think there’s this innate need or want to play along that’s always existed; there’s something universal about feeling compelled to answer Jeopardy questions while watching it and I think our show works along that premise.”
Game Night is one of several new programs Play Noggin is planning. Later this year, it will launch a history series called Here And How.
