Triller, Which Brings Music Video Production To The Masses, Raises $5 Million In Series A Round

Triller has picked up a nice chunk of change. The app, which lets its users create and share music videos, has announced a $5 million Series A funding round led by Carnegie Technologies.

One of the biggest draws for Triller users is the app’s powerful technology, which makes it easier for users to edit and release music videos that are both high-quality and homemade. Thanks to social tools the app introduced in 2016 (right around the time Musical.ly and its ilk were peaking), users can share their creations with friends, viewers, and fans.

Triller, which has been downloaded 23 million times, is available for both iOS

and Android devices. A press release noted Kevin Hart, Vanessa Hudgens, Taylor Hill and Kaskade as a few of the app’s celebrity users. A few of the clips Hart has created can be found on Triller’s YouTube channel:

The release also included an explanation of Triller’s technology and the company’s goals for its new investment, as stated by CEO Mike Lu:

Digital natives are content machines, constantly searching for new ways to take the content they create and share with their social followings to the next level. Triller helps its users do just that, in a matter of seconds and at no cost. This funding round puts us closer to our goal of making Triller the go-to platform to not only create beautiful videos, but also for talent discovery. Our investment into Triller’s patented AI technology, which breaks apart a song into rhythmic beats and combines that with the biometric movements within a video, will directly impact and enhance our ability to help artists and users on the platform grow their following and fanbase.

In total, Triller has raised $9.5 million to date.
