Kevin Hart is looking to give emerging digital comedians a career boost via Laugh Out Loud (LOL) — his digital network launched last July alongside Lionsgate.
The LOL Comedic Creator Program, debuting this month, will tap 10 online creators and give them the chance to curate LOL’s social content on a bi-weekly basis. Content creators will receive support from LOL’s development team as well as access to a newly-refashioned studio, which has been designated for the production of branded content, social videos, and limited original series. Creators tapped for the program will develop content for LOL’s 891,000 YouTube subscribers, 4.5 million Facebook followers, and roughly 83,000 followers across Instagram and Twitter.
The first six comedians to be confirmed for the program — all of whom hail from Instagram — include: Cynthia Luciette (139,000 followers), Sherry Cola (6,300 followers), Lucy The Cashier (39,400 followers), Khadi Don (1.4 million followers), Call Me Choko (31,800 followers), and Renny (1.7 million followers). More creators will be added to the program in coming weeks.

“I’m super excited to be working with the Laugh Out Loud team and to have the support of Kevin Hart and his network,” Lorenzo ‘Renny’ Cromwell (pictured above) tells Tubefilter. “Comedy is what I love doing and what I’m passionate about, so it means a lot that someone of his caliber would recognize that and allow me the space to explore my voice and contribute to the conversation.”
LOL, which is free but also vends a $2.99 monthly ad-free subscription option, distributes long and short-form content via its own website and proprietary mobile apps (which were downloaded 500,000 times within the first 30 days of its launch) — as well as its bustling social channels. The service features licensed programming and original shows headlined by a diverse array of stand-up comedians and influencers, including GloZell and King Bach.
