As the Logan Paul apology tour kicks into high gear, the embattled YouTube star has made an appearance on TV. In an interview with Michael Strahan on ABC‘s Good Morning America, Paul described the blowback to his controversial “suicide forest” video as “the hardest time of my life” and vowed to “think twice” before posting objectionable content in the future.
During a visit to a Japanese wooded area known as the suicide forest, Paul discovered a dead body and posted a vlog about it. He was then criticized across the internet for trivializing suicide and decided to step away from his channel in order “to reflect.” During his hiatus, YouTube removed him from its premium advertising tier and shelved several projects involving him.
In his sit-down with Strahan — his first public interview since this scandal broke — Paul referred to himself as “a good guy who made a bad decision” and vowed to do better going forward. “I will think twice in the future about what I post,” he said, “probably three times.”

Paul also expressed his belief that the controversy “happened for a reason” and discussed his efforts to become involved in suicide prevention efforts. In his first video update after ending his hiatus, he met with survivors of suicide attempts and advocates for suicide prevention. After listening to their stories, he vowed to give $1 million to associated organizations. “I’ve gotten to meet the most incredible people and have the most incredible conversations,” Paul told Strahan. “That’s one thing I don’t regret about this whole experience. I would have missed out on making these relationships and getting this education.”
