Former Smosh Star Anthony Padilla Signs With Studio71 (Exclusive)

As he continues to forge a new path as an independent YouTube creator, Anthony Padilla has signed with leading multi-channel network Studio71, Tubefilter has exclusively learned.

Padilla rose to fame as the co-founder of Smosh, one of YouTube’s most beloved and longstanding comedy channels. Today, the 30-year-old is pursuing sketch comedy to great success on his own eponymous channel (2.5 million subscribers). He will work with Studio71 on management of his digital strategy and online content ecosystem. Padilla also recently launched his first-ever line of merchandise alongside Studio71 — comprising T-shirts and baseball caps with ironically hand-scribbled sayings like ‘Perfect Shirt For Family Photos’ and ‘Dad Hat With Logo’.

“I am excited to embark on this new journey with Studio71,” Padilla told Tubefilter in a statement. “They understand who I am as a creator and fully support the vision I have for my channel, and will help me expand other areas of my brand, such as my recent merch line. Together, we will be able to entertain fans in new ways and provide them with even more new content.”

Padilla is also repped by UTA and Sarah Weichel Management. He joins other high-profile creators to have signed with Studio71 in recent weeks, including Musical.ly megastars Kristen Hancher and Mario Selman, Canadian YouTube host Michael McCrudden, the actor Casey Simpson (of Nickelodeon fame), and Unsolicited Project — a comedy channel run by Sarah Rotella and Adrianna DiLonardo, who created Netflix‘s Almost Adults.
