New Form To Debut Docuseries About Diversity In STEM Featuring Jaden Smith

Digital entertainment studio New Form is partnering with software giant CA Technologies on a documentary series that seeks to highlight the importance of diversity in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) — with respect to both gender and race.

Premiering tomorrow, The STEM10 will air on Amy Poehler’s Smart Girls website and social media platforms. The 10-episode series will profile 10 different innovators across various fields, including the 19-year-old actor-musician Jaden Smith, who founded Just Water — a responsibly sourced and environmentally-packaged boxed water company. The STEM10 will also profile 13-year-old app developer Emma Yang, who has created software to help diagnose concussions and help Alzheimer’s patients identify people in real time using facial-recognition technology.

“Representation matters, and it’s important that young people of all backgrounds know that these kinds of opportunities are out there,” said New Form CEO Kathleen Grace in a statement. “As a leader in tech, we could not have asked for a more knowledgeable brand partner than CA Technologies, who is leading by example and making diversity a priority.”
