Noted former Twitter executive Adam Bain has joined digital financial news network Cheddar as senior advisor.
Bain, who joined Twitter as president of global revenue and partnerships in 2010 and departed last November as COO, will work with Cheddar executives — including founder and CEO Jon Steinberg, COO Eric Harris, and EVP Melissa Rosenthal — on ad products and strategy, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Bain will also help lead Cheddar’s first-ever brand advisory council, which will take place tomorrow and feature CMOs and presidents from Cheddar’s advertising partners.
“Cheddar is the future of news. It’s how I follow the industry,” Bain, who was tasked with growing revenue at Twitter, said in a statement. “People like Martin Sorrell and other industry luminaries break news on Cheddar. I’ve also been impressed with the company’s revenue traction, including Cheddar’s sponsored integrations, which are more effective for brands.”
Cheddar, which broadcasts daily from the New York Stock Exchange, is distributed via Sling TV, Amazon, Twitter, Pluto TV, Vimeo, Facebook, and more. The company announced a $19 million funding round in May and has raised a total of $32 million to date from Raine Ventures, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Amazon, AT&T, Comcast, and others.
Last week, Cheddar named former Warby Parker and Google executive Anjali Kumar chief people officer and general counsel.
