Jukin Media Announces 14,000 Square Foot Studio Space Next To Its Headquarters

Jukin Media made its name by licensing an expansive library of user-generated video clips, but it has greatly expanded its operation in recent years, and it is constructing a new facility to serve its evolving business model. The media company has announced its plan to break ground on a 14,000 square foot production facility that will be adjacent to its headquarters in the Culver City area.

Within its production facility, Jukin will shoot shows it can sell to distributors in both the traditional and new media spheres. Its past programming deals have include a pact with Viacom for an MTV2 show based off the popular Jukin-owned YouTube channel FailArmy and an expansive agreement with MGM Television that was inked back in March. The company says it will increase its original programming output over the next year in order to make use of its shiny new space.

By building such a space, Jukin will continue to contribute to the online video boom that has come to the Culver City area in recent years. Other companies with roots in that neighborhood include Fullscreen and Maker Studios. In total, Jukin’s headquarters will include more than 30,000 square feet of land once construction on the new facility is complete. The company also has offices in New York, London, and Sydney.

“We believe that the future of storytelling is user generated,” said Jonathan Skogmo, Founder and CEO of Jukin Media. “We’re developing high-quality, high-production value projects in lifestyle, travel, documentary, and other categories, all through the lens of real people, out in the real world, recording moments from their daily lives.”

Jukin tentatively plans to begin construction on October 1.
