Digital star Brian Jordan Alvarez, who produced, directed, and starred in the popular and critically-acclaimed web series The Gay And Wondrous Life Of Caleb Gallo, has signed with CAA for representation.
Prior to Caleb Gallo (see below), which as was nominated for a Gotham Independent Film Award, Alvarez was noted for creating online sketches about his life as a gay man. His work on YouTube also led to a deal to develop Caleb Gallo for television alongside Lionsgate as part of the studio’s proclaimed $25 million annual commitment to the influencer realm.
More recently, Alvarez appeared in Stupid Idiots, an indie web series created by Stephanie Koenig that’s also set to hit the small screen thanks to a development deal with Paramount Television
and Anonymous Content. In the series, Koenig (who co-starred in Caleb Gallo) and Alvarez play two bickering friends who hilariously navigate encounters with the outside world. In addition to parts on The CW’s Jane The Virgin and Epix’s forthcoming Get Shorty, Alvarez is currently in post-production on his debut digital feature Everything Is Free, according to Variety.Alvarez is managed by Shepard Smith and Sean Elliott of Authentic Talent & Literary Management, per Variety, and Dean Bahat of Ziffren Brittenham LLP.
