Description: You may think that unrelenting hordes of undead foes represent the biggest threat during a zombie apocalypse, but writer Will Gong and director Lauren Klixbull want to show you that annoying roommates can be just as much trouble. They, along with producer Gabriel Reiter, are behind Bunkheads, a comedy about four people who are forced to co-habitate in order to keep safe from shambling enemies.

In the world of Bunkheads, four survivors have all managed to take refuge in an underground shelter as zombies run amok above them. While this may seem like an amenable situation, it will actually be the setup for a classically-tuned sitcom, with the protagonists’ opposing personalities bouncing off one another in amusing and (hopefully) laugh-out-loud ways. As Bunkheads‘ Indiegogo page reads, “We wanted to take the characters and situations you find in a sitcom and place them into a world they’ve never been before.”

Gong and Klixbull offer more details in their pitch video:

Creator Bio: Gong and Klixbull both bring several notable credits to Bunkheads. Gong has worked on projects for channels like CNN and HBO, while much of Klixbull’s work has been in the branded content arena.

Best Perk: Chip in at least $50, and you’re eligible to receive the director’s script notes. It’s an easy way to make sure you win at Bunkheads trivia night.

Why You Should Fund It: In the Bunkheads pitch video, viewers get a taste of the bright, chipper tone Klixbull and Gong hope to utilize as well as the colorful world they plan to create. All signs point to this project being a polished an enjoyable one, full of relatable characters who have been shoved into an unusual setting. Bunkheads has all the makings of a quality web series — it only needs the funds to turn its vision into a reality.
