A night of heavy drinking is often filled with grand proclamations and big ideas, and a new series wants to see if that sort of behavior can lead to some great new business ideas. Fullscreen will premiere Worth A Shot, in which Tipsy Bartender host Skyy John and Daddy Issues creator Violet Benson compete to see who can find the best pitch among a group of drunk patrons at a local bar.
Worth A Shot, at its core, can be described as “Shark Tank in a bar.” The pitchpeople are drunk, the potential backers are Skyy John and Benson, and the business plans are a little more unusual than the ones you’d find in a typical office setting. A press release notes that the list of pitches will include everything from “a singing pipe named Jon Bong Jovi to furry vibrators to a giant garbage-eating octopus.”
The competition will be overseen by a pair of creators who know their way around a bar. Skyy John’s Tipsy Bartender channel, on which he mixes up colorful, potent spirits, has more than 3.2 million subscribers. Benson’s Daddy Issues account, which has 3.8 million Instagram followers of its own, makes plenty of references to drinking as well.
Worth A Shot will consist of five episodes, all of which will be available on the Fullscreen SVOD platform beginning on July 19. A subscription to that service costs $5.99 per month.
